Summer is almost here…

I can tell because the sand had started showing up!

I love our sandbox! Even though it makes me sweep our house daily AND scrub the tub out after every single bath. The sheer amount of imaginative play that is created with just a box of sand and a hose of water is worth to much to worry about the cleaning.

Thus far they’ve built the Great Wall of China and Pompeii along with several different volcanoes in search of the “best” eruptions. But later it could be the Nile River Delta and the biggest castle in the world!

Then again maybe they’ll just flood the whole thing for the fun of splashing in the sandy water.

In other news I took the last few days to get ready for this weekend where I have the double whammy of Birthday  + Mother’s Day. Many updates soon! But I’m off to sneak another bite of my cake!

I’m so busy….its making my head spin

Every time I start to think about my “busy” I can’t help but hear this song:

Dizzy – Tommy Roe

I’m not complaining though! On the contrary I’m having a good time flitting from project to project here at home. We’ve got our goslings to let out in the mornings that aren’t rainy. The chickens to let out everyday. Garden to weed that is if it ever dries out again! Harley to exercise everyday – my should may not survive that dog’s ability to fetch again and again and again…repeat 20x. Outdoor projects are sprouting everywhere with a few big ones coming up in the next few weeks. “Big” being relative to the fact that we are a tiny crew of a Grandpa, a Mama and two small boys!

Speaking of farm news: 0ur ducklings arrived today and our housed in the brooder box. Picture maybe tomorrow as I’m to comfy to run downstairs to get the camera.

And that’s just the outdoor stuff! We’re currently working every day on a pantry and food storage move/re-organization. This is both interesting and disturbing especially when you find something in the back of the pantry from 2003! Thankfully it was a dried good…a really, really stale dried good. Then there is my on going effort to reduce the amount of stuff in my house. The removal of stuff involves lots of protracted negotiations from all involved. And the boys are really good little persuasive arguers! You see if you think that toy really should go out of the house when they are done with you!
