Well those are almost real smiles instead of the “picture smiles” they’ve been giving me lately.

Grace in Small Things #75 – The Goslings Arrived Early Edition!

1. My dear hubby still being at home when the post office called in the early morning to say “your chicks are here”

2. Enough pre-planning for their arrival that we only had a few hours of scrambling to get things in the “ready” state.

3. The look on the boys’ face the first time they seen the new baby geese.

4. Our bathroom! It’s heat lamp and the electric heat of the house kept our unexpected arrivals warm until we had everything set.

5. Gramps who was a big help in getting things moved/shuffled toot-sweet!

A few weeks ago now we had our first ever Mini-Model Home Show. It was fun and a moderate success. The participating kids had a good time and I really enjoyed hearing from them. The impromptu public speaking about their projects was an unanticipated benefit. All of them did quite well describing the project AND answer questions from the audience.

This wasn’t fully his project. Well it was his project but he had a lot more parent help than I’d hoped. I knew it would be more of a helped project when Lil’B insisted on building a castle. He cut out a lot but all those cuts around the top had to be assisted. Luckily he’s okay with being chief engineer and ordering his “workers” around!

Boxes for No Reason

We didn’t quite make our plan for our dear Uncle K. happen. But we had intended to send

BIG WISHES!!

Alas we were not quite successful and instead sent

small wishes.

Uncle. K on the other hand once again achieved “Jedi Knight” or maybe Yoda?? then again it is probably “Sith” status what with the boys’ drawn to the dark side (ha ha ha ha). How? By sending the boys a Box for No Reason that had….action figures in it!! I think Boxes for No Reason are almost better than presents for an occasion. I snapped a picture of the boys saying thanks and enjoying their new people.

Best part of this idea was the attempt to get the above picture. I have four or so that look like this one:

Grace in Small Things #65

1. finding an old friend after a number of years AND finding her in a wonderful, happy place in her life.

2. hearing that another friend getting a weekend all to herself and finding myself feeling bubbles of happy for her!

3. knowing that one of my favorite book sales is coming up in just a couple weeks.

4. getting all the packages in the mail!

5. locating the boys’ artwork so I can photograph it for the upcoming Kid Art Auction for Earth Day 2009.
