Things I want to remember: He planned his birthday party from the look of the cake to the activities of the day. He articulated his wants for the day clearly. He was our “King for a Day” but such a delightfully benevolent little King! His quiet compassion showed with his desire to have everyone take part in the fun. And the way he took time to invite all our household to his Art Party. He loved each gift he received. From his lego ship to the simplest of gifts he greeted them all with enthusiasm and *joy*. He shared his day with his big brother in so many small ways. What a fine young man he already is at just five.
Blowing out the candles.
Making a wish.
Lil’B is my child of contradictions. He’s sometimes so gentle and orderly while other times he’s wild and unruly. He can be quiet while playing legos for hours or he’ll spend the day like a whirlwind through our house in a hurricane of activity. His imagination is so big that it spills out all the time. On those days quiet is not something he can be; there is simply too much to tell and share. He always has his music with him and will often spend time humming snippets of songs. He’s outwardly strong of character but beneath is a gentle and sometimes easily bruised heart.
He is my Hardy Rose. Strong and resilient but yet still delicate and beautiful.
