Saturday Cartoons

Every Saturday morning Jr. Picasso watches his toons. Since we don’t have cable this is the only day he can see Nick Jr. Cartoons. So we spend the morning watching Lazytown, Miss Spider, Backyardigans, Dora, Little Bill and Blues Clues. Baby Beethoven pretty much ignores the TV except when Backyardigans is on. I am not entirely sure what this program teaches kids but it has music and dancing toons; so you can see why Baby B is interested. I personally still haven’t figured out what the character “Uniquah” is – - she’s a pink polka-dotted something??

Lazytown is supposed to inspire kids to action (play). But my little couch potato is thus far not swayed by the bouncing active characters. He is content to sit on the couch and grow roots till the cartoons are over. Thankfully we have worked hard to curb our TV watching so its less of a fight to get the TV back off.

Now if we (the parents) could just manage the same discipline for ourselve when we pop the TV on. It seems to be rather difficult to turn it off after our show. The beckoning of the dishes and laundry just can’t seem to over come the comfy couch! LOL

Why Blog?

Why a blog? Well I am terrible at updating my website! So to keep those who desire to be informed of the adventures of Jr. Picasso and Baby Beethoven; I decided to blog. Because I can whip up a note about the days adventure or mis-adventure in the time it take for Jr. P & Baby B. to get bored with playing. That’s terribly exciting for the average person isn’t it!

Today
Well Baby Beethoven has a cold. Yay! The poor little snotter has a head full and it won’t move so he’s rattling, coughing and sneezing. his way through today. At least the sneezing helps remove some of the offending “stuffiness.” On top of his cold, he finally popped out that top front tooth. So he’s now up to three teeth. Oh Joy. Seriously though have YOU ever thought about the poor breastfeeding mom once her child is armed with teeth?? LOL I will survive but lets hope he catches on quick that biting is painful!

Jr. Picasso has been busy learning his numbers. I keep thinking it would go better if I used the telephone to help him “get” numbers but I haven’t been brave enough to help him make a phone call. He’ll be very enthused and want to call all the time. Beware – A call from Jr. P may be coming you way soon!

Code names!?!?

To protect our small innocents we issued some code names:

Jr. Picasso
This would be our oldest. He’s a delight and a treasure with a passion for the arts. Paints, clay, crayons and markers are the tools of his trade. Paper is his partner in crime. He a wise little man who strives to drive his mama batty only a few times a week!

Baby Beethoven
This would be our youngest. He’s a little trooper fast on his brother’s heels. Loves to dance, hop and bop to music. Has a particular passion for classical music and songs with a good beat. Has been known to “sing” a sweet baby song to lullabys and ballads.
