Grace in Small Things #71

I know I’m off on the numbering now! Good thing this isn’t a competition I very much enjoy my nightly ritual of thinking of my five things. I find that even on the most frustrating of days I can find five things though realistically some keep reoccurring. Like toast. Yes the simple warmth and comfort of a piece of toast often lifts my day.

Grace in Small Things #71

1. A day of shoe shopping with the boys who were both patient and cheerful through SIX stores.

2. Online shoe retailers that make my feet happy when the physical stores don’t have what I want.

3. Jr. finding books I’ve gotten for next year and snatching them up to read/look through.

4. Leaf piles that stay put even when the wind is howling. Thank you small rain shower!

5. Chocolate covered almonds

Grace in Small Things #70

1. Getting my girl scout cookie fix!

2. The boys having a fun visit with friends and coming home tired enough that bedtime goes super smooth!! *YAY*

3. Finally getting to watch the movie I got for myself from netflix…also getting the pile of laundry folded while I watched it.

4. yard cleaning

5. Finding a few nice jeans at the thrift store. This makes my constant fear of ruining the “only nice jeans” I have less. Now I can ruin the knees in the dirt all I want!

Grace in Small Things #69

Outdoor Clean Up Edition!

1. The “new” recycling corner all set up. We abandoned our small containers to replace them with larger ones. This will work a lot better with our once a month run to the recycling drop off. (There is no weekly pick up here)

2. Finding the ground out of the junk corner. There is a spot near our garden that has collected up junk some from when we moved in! We’ve found the ground and have hauled away a bunch of the junk.

3. Re-organizing the mudroom. This is actually an indoor project but wow does it help to have it more tidy!

4. Jr. is a real, solid help this year. And what’s more he’s enthusiastic about helping. Joy!

5. Lil’B is very good about playing in the sandbox while we’re back and forth. He’s also helping out when he can. Another Joy!
