Why I hand my camera to my sons
We had dragonflies in the garden the other day. At one count we had seven lovely dragonflies landing amongst us as we worked. This only happens a few days of the summer so I handed Jr. our camera to get a few photographs.
I loved watching him sneak up to try to get close up shots.
What was interesting when I downloaded the pictures were the pictures I found that aren’t of the intended subject. Like this one of the vulture flying against the sun. Though I should probably talk to him about taking pictures of the sun!?!?!
And the best part well the best part is when the view of a child captures perfectly that of another.
Random Photos

The boys’ plots are coming along nicely. With the rains these past few days LilB’s sunflowers are about 12 inches taller than when this photo was taken a week ago.
Jr. found this caterpillar. We think it may be a full grown inch worm. What do you think?
Geo Mags are not just for building! Here they’ve been turned into a Jet Pack and a Cape for our resident T-Rex.
Blogging from the Antique
My macbook is experiencing technical difficulties which has meant that I’m using the computer we term as “the boys’ computer.” It is practically an antique! Okay it really isn’t but in computer gadget time it is old and slow…very, very slow.
This week has been odd for me given that I was forced by circumstances to slow down. I spent less time on the internet in general but found that twitter is really my “fun” place of the moment. I also found that I really am a member of the broadband age. Seriously about 20 minutes on this slow as molasses computer is all I can take!
I have pictures to post but have yet to dump them from my camera. I was very thankful that I ran a back up last week from my mac. I am fairly certain that this is a hardware issue but still run your backups people!
I’m hoping to spend a few days catching up with our projects here at the blog so I do plan on posting out several things this weekend. This plan will work out well since it is supposed to rain for a few days straight.
In the meantime I’m heading back out to the garden to pull a few more weeds and maybe poke in a couple more seeds. I think I’ll also grab a couple pictures before the weeds become monster weeds. It’s still a good garden but these last few stretches of 2 and 3 day rains have allowed that darn grass to get a good hold.
Ok time is up on this antique more soon!
