Mr. Clifton

First a story. Back when I was younger I had an occasion to meet a young man with a voice like rich, dark chocolate. His voice was the exact sound I imagined rich, dark chocolate to have or rather how it might sound. I spent the better portion of the week haunting his location in the hopes of simply having the auditory pleasure of hearing him speak. I’ve no idea where he is now nor do I really remember his name. But were I to hear his voice again I’m certain I would recognize it.

Getting to my point now. To me voices can be like good wine, excellent chocolate and other delightful things. I take pleasure in listening when I find one I like to hear. I was recently researching audio versions of a particular poem for our Poetry Club. I knew what I’d was hoping to find in terms of accent and tone. What I found was my new favorite reader for audio. Mr. Clifton. But rather than have me go on and on about how I’m quite enjoying his lovely reading style. Or how I find his voice give a wonderful depth to the poetry I’ve listened to in the past days. Or how I liked his rendition of Tiger, Tiger so much that I finally figured out how to search for a specific reader on Librivox.

Enjoy for yourself and explore the other readers there too!
