It helps to remember the password

Monday, June 15th, 2009

I updated a lot of my various haunts with shiny new passwords mostly because it was time to make those types of changes. Unfortunately with selecting several new passwords at once I now spend several minutes trying to sign in because I can’t remember what I selected for which place. Fun times!

Random Bits from our weekend:

Daddy turned a year older. We celebrated in a small fashion here at home with the boys taking the bulk of the day to be with their Dad. I made a pretty good imitation of an asian inspired noodle meal for supper since the request was for “Hu-Hot”. We had cake and ice cream. For the gift portion of the day Daddy received paper certificates for a Wii Game and a Shirt!

Jr. wanted to pick a Sonic the Hedgehog game for his Daddy. Unfortunately for me there are several choices and each is a bit different. So we opted for the certificate to give Daddy a chance to read the backs of the games and choose his favorite. Lil’B is giving Daddy a shirt – it’s supposed to be black with a specific letter on it?! My little fashion designer in the making…the next Todd Oldham.

Jr. learned to drive our small mower as a lawn tractor. The mowing part has to wait until he gets a bit bigger but he’s thrilled to be driving “by himself.”

We cleared out over a 1000 pounds of junk from our storage. And we’re not quite done as we still need to offload the old electronic junk.

That’s our weekend in a nutshell. How was yours?

Almost 7

Monday, September 15th, 2008

Jr. has a birthday coming up and so my mind has already begun aging him to be a full-fledge 7. He’s now in this in between stage of “almost 7″. I find that I’m aging him when I talk and I’m wondering what will celebrate this birthday for him. Our idea list is slim. And some of my ideas will end up being Christmas presents as I sit and shuffle things around.

Idea #1 – Walkie Talkies. Good idea but this would actually work as a bigger gift for both of the boys at Christmas. Mental note to shift this to the Christmas list.

Idea #2 – Microscope. Awesome idea but Yikes the prices. Entertain a conversation with Grandpa about maybe going into together on this together the next time the group buy comes. Great plan but that means this will be much, much closer to Christmas.

Idea #3 – good chess set – only problem with this idea is that we just picked up a dinosaur checkers set that Jr. figured out will also work as DINO CHESS. Shot in the foot by my own self!

Gah! Anybody have some good ideas for a 7 year old’s birthday present?

Faces of Four

Each birthday I try to get one good photo of the birthday boy for our albums and such. Occasionally this is a very fun endeavor. Here’s a sampling of what I got yesterday:

Four

That’s my baby. A beautiful four. And I’m so happy to be here with him in these moments.
