Finally Hollyhocks

After four years of seeds that never started,

last year I bought two tiny plants…

that grew nothing but big green leaves all summer…

finally this year

I have flowers.

Hollyhocks.

Just a list

1. Boy the younger finished up Gauge by Chris D’Lacey. I really do adore his series for younger readers.

2. Boy the older is taking a clay project to fair. I’m quite proud of this one because it is completely of his own desire and thought. Bonus is it’s turned out rather nice for a first attempt.

3. I was re-reading a trilogy of mine and once again realized I love series and in particular trilogies.

4. We are considering a cat for the younger boy. He wants a pet. We looked at turtles and tortoises but sometimes the simplicity of a food bowl, water bowl and a litter box along with heaps of love and attention seems like a better choice.

5. I want to go pick blueberries. The goats ate almost all of two of my tiny blueberry bushes setting them back almost an entire years worth of growth. Sad face.

Some bunny loves you

This is the rabbit also known as “the fair bunny”. We’ve all been working with him (the bunny) for our oldest boy’s first upcoming 4H fair. He’s (the bunny) becoming quite the sweet heart. I’m hoping he’ll show well for my son but I’ll be happy enough if the boy can get the bunny to the table and back again with out incident. He’s still a little new at handling his rabbit. We’ll assign him a pedigree name soon. So far Storm is the winning entry. We have almost all weather related names except for Harvey, Marina and possibly one other whose name is yet to be determined by our younger boy.
