30 days of Grace Day 1 and Day 2

Last month I decided that in October, I would share my Grace In Small Things posts again. For a lot of small reasons but one of the largest is that my husband and I will celebrate our 12th anniversary. Even though ten years is an “occasion” twelve feels more significant for what reason I’m not sure other than I am a bit odd in general.

I would have posted this first round yesterday on October 1st but I was busy enjoying a much needed girls night.

Day 1

1. Peabody’s husband who loves peanut butter and chocolate as much as I do it seems. His love of the combination inspired his lovely wife to create the Peanut Butter Brownie Torte. I made it yesterday. It tasted as good as her photo looked.

2. Girlfriends who saved me from eating the above mentioned dessert all by myself. Also husbands (mine and my dear friend’s) who also helped save me from eating the whole dessert. And finally boys who tried bites to save their mama from eating the last bit of the whole thing!

3. Bartering. Because it is fun and beneficial.

4. Driving by myself with my tunes turned up loud.

5. Curling up to my husband on the first cold night of the season.

Day 2

1. Remembering to be patient when patience is the last thing you have on hand.

2. Watching my boy be so excited for his birthday that he’s literally wiggling with joy.

3. Birthday present scheming. Because surprising a birthday boy is so much fun.

4. The infamous green croc the geese keep stealing showing up in strange places. Today it was in the driveway though I am certain we had both crocs in the house!

5. Realizing you are comfortable with your “freak” badge.

Grace in Small Things #77

Oh it has been awhile since I published my list! A little shame on me but only just a little.

Today feels like a list day! We made lists for the weekend work and I’m making a list of “to do’s” for school. Lists are popping up everywhere here at our house!

1. Slugs after breakfast. What a lovely find! Well lovely isn’t exactly the right term but you get it. We had a nature movie this week that talked of slugs and slime. Very interesting to small boys. Lo and behold I found an actual slug this morning which allowed them to observe in real life!

2. 15 pounds of beans and 30 pounds of flour. Those are just two things on my new and improving pantry list. And the new shelves are an awesome addition to our cramped kitchen. Granted I have to go up/down stairs now when I need supplies but I’m choosing silver lining: more exercise, more organization and we got rid of a couple things from the back of the pantry (closet) from 2003!!

3. Catching up with my sister and talking of some summer plans for all our kids.

4. Catching my brother online and getting to say “hi” from so far away.

5. Lil’B's evolving birth DAY. He’s got plans and they come at about one item every three days or so. So far: No piano, No work but chores are okay, Cake and maybe a present. Wish I could express in writing his adorable, scrunchy face when he says mmmmaaaaayyyybbbeee a present!
