Simple Sunday

Today was a nice simple day. One that I actually enjoyed quite a lot. For a recap:

1. Got up late but not so late that I was grumpy.

2. After breakfast we went outside for a tromp in the brisk fresh air (also to do chores)

3. Lil’B had a make up piano lesson so we grabbed a quick lunch then headed off to make music.

4. Since we were so close Lil’B and I traveled over to the shoe store for his “farm” shoes.

5. Headed home and listened to our History Cds all the way.

6. Grabbed a snack and then started on bills/cleaning with the hubby. The boys opted to run around outside (ha ha ha)

7. Got bored of “helping” with the bills and decided to paint the chalkboard table. Looks great again now!

8. Went back outside for some more brisk fresh air (also chores again).

9. Confirmed that the goslings are indeed tall enough to switch off the lamps by “eating” the pull chain.

10. Moved the heat lamps into the “up” position away from curious goslings.

11. Rambled a bit then headed indoors with our rosy cheeks for supper.

12 Watched my most favorite NOVA about cuttlefish.

13. Read stories to my boys.

14. Visited my websites, worked on ridding the DJ of spam members, read tweets, and blogged

I am now off to read a bit before I head to bed! I hope your day was full of simple pleasures too.

Boxes for No Reason

We didn’t quite make our plan for our dear Uncle K. happen. But we had intended to send

BIG WISHES!!

Alas we were not quite successful and instead sent

small wishes.

Uncle. K on the other hand once again achieved “Jedi Knight” or maybe Yoda?? then again it is probably “Sith” status what with the boys’ drawn to the dark side (ha ha ha ha). How? By sending the boys a Box for No Reason that had….action figures in it!! I think Boxes for No Reason are almost better than presents for an occasion. I snapped a picture of the boys saying thanks and enjoying their new people.

Best part of this idea was the attempt to get the above picture. I have four or so that look like this one:

Grace in Small Things #65

1. finding an old friend after a number of years AND finding her in a wonderful, happy place in her life.

2. hearing that another friend getting a weekend all to herself and finding myself feeling bubbles of happy for her!

3. knowing that one of my favorite book sales is coming up in just a couple weeks.

4. getting all the packages in the mail!

5. locating the boys’ artwork so I can photograph it for the upcoming Kid Art Auction for Earth Day 2009.

imommy I have had a lovely time getting to know imommy at her blog. She blogs about parenting, balance work/life and sometimes just fun stuff!

Playing With Legos I actually stumbled upon this blog a few weeks ago when searching for lyrics to a kids song. I stayed because of the “Song of the Week” series that was starting. And of course because I’m also homeschooling lego maniacs. The bond of tiny foot mangling bricks between us made me feel right at home.

Knitting stuff and going on and on A long time ago in a swap far away I recieved a package from Dorothy. And a note with her blog address. She blogs on crafting, parenting and other tidbits of life.
