My youngest boy tried my parenting patience today with a bout of….
- not listening
- being ornery
- having a brain too full
- being fierce
- being angry

Finding the peace today was hard but I found it….

- in talking with my mad little boy
- in the excitement of my older boy about something simple
- in the partnership of parenting with my husband

I lost my mellow in the early afternoon. I like my mellow. I like not feeling frantic. To find my mellow I ….

- baked cookies i didn’t have to mix (thank you frozen cookie dough from last time!)
- ironed fabric
- cut out pajama pants and napkins
- read twitter and blogged a bit.

We started out good today but quickly melted down. We bailed on friends in order to preserve our sanity with our children. That doesn’t make us as adults feel really great. We were stuck in that place between bailing and rewarding an ornery boy. I know these trying moments will pass and that others will rise to the surface. But today it felt good to just get home and crawl into out house until tomorrow!
