1. Our duck hens laid two eggs this week. Which means that of the brown hen looking ones at least two are indeed girls. It is always nice to get that confirmation.
2. Our geese are chicken feed thieves. Thus my hen house egg eater has been consuming eggs again. I will not be sad to see this chicken flock rotated “out”. Also we are trying a new tactic to keep the geese out. I put a barrel in front of the door. The chickens managed to get out and thus far today the geese aren’t in so perhaps this will work.
3. Our “little” chickens are no longer little and in fact one of my Brahma roosters is nearly as big as my old Maran Rooster. The poor Maran doesn’t know what to do with all these young roosters.
4. My banty rooster who stands 6-8 inches tall. He’s fine and cocky as ever. Makes me laugh every morning to watch him strut.
5. The geese are curious animals. They will taste just about anything. They usually spend some time every day trying to figure out just how they are supposed to eat Lil’B's green crocs. Thus far the durability of a croc has withstood the chewing of the geese.

My grams had a goose (Squiggy) and at the time red shoelaces in your Adidas were all the rage. Squiggy loved to try to eat the laces. He’d also follow us around and as soon as we turned around to look at him, he would pretend to be hunting around in the grass for something, like “Nope, I wasn’t stalking you. Just lookin’ for worms.” It’s funny how animals have their own little “personalities”.

LOL. Farm animals certainly are interesting critters! Geese make me nervous, although I’m guessing yours are a bit nicer.
I’d love to see that teeny little rooster!
