One of my favorite things about having all the cousins together is that those that are old enough to play board games do. In fact over the course of a three day weekend most of our favorites make repeated appearances. This year was no different except perhaps that chess played a central role as the “it” game of the weekend.
White (plastic) versus White (wooden) the most confusing game of the weekend much to the delight of the kids who thought it was particularly funny.
My second favorite thing is that though we have kids from 4 to 11 playing board games we have few tears or upset. I am constantly surprised as how well they manage to rotate the playing around so that everyone gets to play or choose a game. Our favorites of the weekend were Stratego, Chess and our Professor Noggin
games.
