Our Sunflower heads are heavy, our beans are plump and almost ready to start drying and our popcorn looks like we might actually get some! The tomatoes are so late and so green yet that we are at the frost whimsy on whether we’ll get any. Our apples are in and ready to be processed. Last week we picked all our pears they are currently in cold storage. Just a few more weeks and then we’ll till under the whole garden for winter. For such an awful year we might just do okay! Canning fruits will finish up and then we’ll start on some of our winter projects which include rendering lard, baking rolls and making various soup stocks. Sometimes Fall feels busier than Summer for us.
