Mommy: light of “duh” dawns! “You mean asparagus! Yes we made some asparagus!
Lil’B: Yeah afergus that’s what I meened.

My kids call it egg-spare-gus, and none of them will eat it. For a while there, I was on an asparagus kick and would cook the top halves of the stalks with hollandaise, then cut up the rest over the next few days into casseroles and stir fry and stuff. For months, every time I cooked something with green things in it, they accused me of sneaking them egg-spare-gus. “It’s just peas. You know what peas look like,” but they’d give me that look of mistrust.
