Oh yeah! I’m catching up on posting tonight! My friend Heather K. awarded me this lovely leg award for keeping her out of a box! Okay not really but to quote her:
MamaB. Oh where would I be without you. Stuck in a box, that’s where. You allowed me and everyone else to be who we are and feel okay about it.
What a high compliment to receive. I believe in a level of respectable tolerance and try to cultivate it in myself. And hopefully in my children. Its the balance between allowing someone to be themselves while not being a doormat about what makes you yourself. But it can be tricky. I can only wake up everyday and try to be the best me I can without hopefully trodding to harshly on others for being who they are.

I am constantly pleased by the variety in my friends. Unique perspectives can challenge, offer insight and keep things lively. But the core friendships….that simple enjoyment of the person someone is that’s what makes my friendships seem so rich and my feel so very wealthy.

Now onto my awardees!

I’m going to award Don (though you’ll probably have to let him know Christine!).
He’s letting the cat out of the bag with family that he’s an atheist/agnostic (depending on definition) and that takes courage of a special sort. I had some snarky humor regarding quota inclusive but its not coming through well probably because I’m tired. If your on the inside you’ll probably get my allusion…….. :D

*Note*
I’ll add some more later. But my brain just went on holiday so I’m having to think to hard to even make sentences much less award more people. Damn earlier bedtime is killing my later at night postings. Its like my very own personal “Writer’s Strike”!

  1. He reads you on Bloglines, he’s just not a big commenter, but I’ll let him know! What a lovely award! (from one of our favorite movies too)

  2. She’s right, I would have seen it in my Bloglines if she hadn’t told me first.

By the way, I’m tagging you for the seven random things meme!
