I’m just going to ramble for a little bit while I order my brain to find some well….order. Its a little late to be trying to think but I’m going to for just a few more minutes before I head to bed. Let’s start on Sunday where we learned that the truck wouldn’t start. Bummer. Kind of a big bummer since its my vehicle of the moment so we (being the kids and I) were stuck for a least a day or two.

My dear husband and Gramps fiddled with it a bit to see if they could figure out what was up but it kept not starting even after charging up the battery. At that point my dear husband checks with me to find that I do not (for once in a blue moon) have plans for the first part of the week. This actually worked out in everyone’s favor. The boys and I spent a few days being home and dear husband didn’t have to worry about fixing the truck right.this.second.

Being home for four whole days in a row was actually rather glorious. It made me want to have a repeat of a few days at home this coming week. Strange no? This week I was able to sort some junk, fold the laundry, complete a good portion of the “to do for school this week” list, clean some more, read some books to the boys, can some sauce (yum!), and the list went on!

It got me to thinking about my commitment last year to being out of the house only on Mondays and Fridays. Those particular days won’t work this year but I think I may try to have three days at home in a row again this year as well.

Now for some miscellaneous tidbits
The good: Jr’s Piano lesson has been figured out!! The Ugh: Its at 9AM in the morning!
The good: Lil’B’s music lesson might happen yet!! The Ugh: Its also at 9AM in the morning!
The good: We’ll have to go to bed at night for our morning classes! The Ugh: my late risers are already planning a mutiny! The Ack!: (I myself am one of the late risers!!!)
The good: the boys are all set for exploratory ballet class! The Ugh: Its at 4:30pm and I’m not sure Lil’B will stay awake on the “short but just long enough to go to sleep” drive!!

The Wee Yay: I made some pajama pants for the boys (pictures tomorrow)!!
With the much appreciated help and counsel of my friend Daywahyn I was able to make pants for each boy tonight. They are currently asleep in them now! And the bonus I think is that I myself am feeling very warm and squishy about my first sewing project that is NOT a “best baby blanket in the world”.

Next on the sewing horizon boxers for my boy along with a rant on the sizing of little boy undies.
But that’s a diatribe for another day.

  1. congratulations on completing your first non baby blanket.

  2. Yay on your pajama pants! I made a pair of flannel pajamas for my son last fall. The pants were the fun part. The sleeves on the top, not so much. :P I’ve had the most luck with things that say “easy” or “beginner” or something like that. But there is so little to sew for boys!

  3. Ah pajama pants! My first success too!

Did you end up in the same day/slot/teacher for music for L’B as last time?

  4. I can totally sympathize with the early class. I sometimes wish I was a morning person, maybe I’m fooling myself, but I think I would be more productive.

  5. Vehicle difficulties…isn’t it nice that we homeschool? It’s such a load off that we actually (technically) have no where that we have to be. Congrats on the pj pants…I am a regular Goodwill/Salvation Army shopper, so I have picked up pj shirts (so far) for 49 cents ea. I guess I need to expand my horizons one of these days!

  6. I didn’t know you could sew. I have made lots of little dresses, but have to admit to only making my son a shirt with trains on it when he was about 3. It had a collar, pocket, buttons. I’m still recovering from that project.

    Did the truck get fixed?

  7. Sorry about the truck! Sometimes it is nice to be forced to stay home. We are the exact opposite of you guys, we go out maybe once a week!

I hope you are able to make your “early” classes. I say that in quotes because I am jealous that a 9am appointment is early. I’m up every day by 6 and that is a sleeping in day. Gotta love early rising toddlers!

    Is the truck fixed now?
