Yep I’m trolling the homeschool blogosphere for homeschool families in the last few remaining states we’re missing to complete our “Hello America!” letter swap. Now before you get the idea that I thought of this idea all myself I’m going to acknowledge that the original idea was someone else’s. I’m very grateful and plan to send a special note to the organizing mom expressing my thanks. With her idea and organization we had 42 states right off the bat through one of my homeschool lists. But it was a grand idea and I was so excited as was Jr. And with 42 that means we’re only missing a handful.
A mere handful.
Surely I know someone from most of those states at least in the virtual sense of knowing someone. So I’m trolling my lists to find a few families there. That took care of a couple more states. But then I ran into Nebraska.
Yep, Nebraska.
I actually had to pause for a moment because much to my consternation I don’t “know” any homeschoolers from Nebraska. Huh. How can that be? I mean I’m right next door. We’re just a hop, skip and a jump from Nebraska.
So I’m google-blog searched for a homeschooler in Nebraska. I found an incredible family that is a recent transplant to good ol’Nebraska. So I popped off a comment to see what she’d say to letter swapping with us.
I still have a few more states to find and in a strange way I think I’m just as excited to “meet” these families as my son is to thumbtack the states as he gets HIS mail.
Weaver asked what states we still need so I’m updating the post. I actually popped over to Weaver & Brewer’s because I thought they were close but it wasn’t the “W” I thought. With that being said I can safely say that if any of my readers wish to exchange a snail mail letter we would be very interested. Then again we at our house love to get mail. (Yes we’re a little easy to please.)

You may certainly ask; I’m not sure how helpful I can be. This is my first year homeschooling, but tell me what you need and I shall do my best!
