We went to see the Ballet on Friday at the Arts Festival. I had a good time and I think the boys did too. Mostly I’m blogging this so I’ll remember next year when I think about going again. Fabulous night with fantastic temperatures and weather. Would have been great if we’d been able to get there really early and then sit, and sit, and sit, and sit, for the show to start. Completely unrealistic given that I was with kids but a mom can dream can’t she?? I’m guessing that those front row people probably staked their spots two hours before show time.

It was great to be able to see what I could of the show and I enjoyed it immensely. I’d really like to have gone the first time the Ballet came to town! The first two numbers were fun and had the kids bopping along. The third number was strange, very strange but incredible from an intricacy of the dance perspective. I’m still trying to figure out how the men knew where to step. To make a little more sense: a man was carrying a women on top his shoulders and they together had on this very long dress which covered up all the women and most of the man. So they looked like really tall women. Perhaps the dress was sheer enough to see through?? Either way it was impressive even in its strangeness.

After using up all the available good kids at the ballet time we had it was off to the kids area to make crafts. We painted, glued, sparkled and drew our way to 10pm when it shut down for the night. It was great fun!
