I’d like to report that we had a fabulous weekend but while we did have a good weekend it was still traveling to a funeral. My dear hubby’s grandfather passed away late last week. We traveled up so that dear hubby could attend the funeral and we could attend the after luncheon as a family. Rather than go into the gory details of dealing with in-laws, I thought I would share my favorite Grandpa George story.

Shortly after we were before we were married my dear hubby and I went to wander our local mall. A lo and behold who do we see there but Grandpa George! Now this would have been such a sight except for the common family knowledge that Grandpa George wasn’t supposed to be driving anymore due to failing eyesight. Matter of fact Grandma was known to tell Grandpa to stay put if she had to go out.

So we inquired to Grandpa “Where’s Grandma?”

With a sly look and a small chuckle he says “She’s playing cards with friend so I snuck out to go to the mall!”

“Grandpa!” We laughed “That’s gonna get you in trouble!”

“Aw pshaw” he says. “What she don’t know won’t hurt me none!”

Farewell Grandpa George. Farewell.
