First I am giving myself a big break because I’ve only been knitting for just a wee little while. And second my children whom I love dearly with every fiber of my being were blessed with somewhat freakishly large heads making them not the greatest hat-sizers in the world.
So I’m working on a hat for my friend Snickety’s friend. (got that?) anyways since I don’t know the darling little dear that I am making it for I am guestimating her head size based on my own little men. (gotta love that precision measuring right?)
Well the first attempt at cool-hippie-hat for child age seven……well its cute, quirky and perhaps to big in circumference and to small in length. It may end up being my second Dulaan hat as I am certain there will be at least one small child with a big head such as my own here in America.
So back to the drawing board for cool-hippie-hat number #2! This time I am selecting a slightly different pattern and using my mom’s freakishly small noggin as our measurement model!

Mama B, you are the greatest! Thank you so much for your work on Scout’s hat. I know they will love it, love it, love it!
I have a freakishly small head, too. I’ve been called Peahead quite a bit over the course of my life…
