Well we have almost recovered the house from the Cousin Invasion….er visit. It really wasn’t that bad (the house) it just always seems to take us a couple of days to get back into the swing of our normal schedule.
Wednesday night I got together with another homeschooling mom (ChefsWife)and we talked shop, kids and even a little curriculum. It was a nice chance to unwind! So feeling very refreshed I headed into Thursday with good thoughts and positive energy. I managed to get the Chicken co-op cleaned out, the “almost everything room” vacuumed and the living room put back together after the boys declared a “tent day” complete with tent, pillows and a myriad of other necessary “tent day” resources.
Friday we ran to the library for the last day of the summer reading program. We missed the concert but the boys didn’t mind. They were all about the prizes (two coupons one for ice cream and one for a library DVD rental) and submitting the chances at the drawing. Ok Lil’B really didn’t care but he’s very enthusiastic about the process! We checked out a few new books including a book on CD called “How to Train your Dragon.” Seems like it might be an interesting story. But we really picked it up because its the book before “How to be a Pirate!”
Saturday we had music class which we are still very much enjoying. The boys clap, sing, dance and make lots of noise. I will be sad when its over as we discovered it in a sense “too late” for Jr. This is his last class of Music Together. But I am trying to be enthusiastic about the beginning piano class that’s available! We’ll see how it goes as I hope to enroll him in that this fall. It works well because the piano class is the same time as the Music Together class
Today (Sunday) we spent taking care of some necessary paperwork things. And generally hiding away from the heat and humidity!
