Have we disappeared?? Not quite but we have been busy, busy this week.
On Tuesday we (the boys & I) visited Great Grandma at new nursing home in nearby town. It was a nice little visit though the “safety rails” on the bed even in the down position were still hazardous to the boys’ feet. I think I rescued stuck legs/feet three or four times in the hour we were there to visit?! ack. The boys got into the packing peanuts from our discovery toys order today. In a flash a brilliance I put them into two different grocery sacks, tied a knot and let the boys wander with their “treasure.” (Since today is Sunday when I am writing this…Lil’B has been carrying his “baggin” around for the entire week. I have no really idea WHY but on Thursday night we almost had a fit-from-hades because Daddy tried to “take” the “baggin” when he went to put Lil’B to bed. Needless we quickly gave it back. Lil’B placed it next to his bed and happily went to sleep??? Strange but cute!!)
On Wednesday I did tons of laundry, hung out most of it on our nifty clothesline, cleaned house and then run away for girls night out. I caught up with a fellow homeschooling mom so I got to talk about books, curriculum, kids. It was a nice chance to recharge for the week ahead. And to show off my curriculum picks because whether or not its something you’ll USE its just plain FUN to look through books and plans!!
On Thursday we spent most of the day outside where we watered the garden plants. I also
had a horrid headache causing the Thursday evening to turn into lazy-fest.
Friday ended up being a quiet affair. We were home and spent most the day in a general state of “straightening and playing”
Saturday is where we got a little busy! I had seen in the paper a garage sale with a king size bed. The sale started at 8am so we got up early to be first. The bed at the sale was marked $400 a little more than what we were hoping, but we offered $200. Which is what we thought we were going to end up spending. But the ladies at the sale were very gracious and remembered that their friend also had a king bed for sale at a lower price ($75). A quick call provided us with enough incentive to make an appointment to buy the second bed. The only “problem” the second bed was in Carlisle. So we ran home and made calls to the local truck rental places and ended up getting this:
We are justifying renting the truck with the following:
Our “new” king bed
Our “new” homeschool/family room activity table
(note the crafty activity going on)
The bed was a converted waterbed so Hubby & I had a brilliant idea to retro-fit and old water bed box set to fit thus giving our bed the height we desired from the floor. Looks great doesn’t it!!!
