This week did go exactly as planned. Sunday evening Lil’B fell and smacked his head into a flower pot. He had a massive goose egg! And for a few minutes I thought we would have to head to the ER. But after 10 minutes of icing it and then 10 more of cool washclothes its seemed to recede a little. We still watched him like a hawk for the next 24 hours and we were mildly concerned when on Monday he developed a fever. Though it was probably unrelated to the head bump and more directly associated with the licking of shopping carts the week before.Updated to show Massive Goose Egg!!

Yes you read correctly - he LICKED a shopping cart - EEWWWWW! I was completely grossed out at the time as well as being frustrated with my inability to dissuade him from doing it! One week later he’s sick….surprise, surprise.

So Tuesday and Wednesday he was sick with a fever. No other appreciable syptoms arose. Thursday dawned bright and clear in both weather and health. So we opted to attend Hubby’s employee appreciation day out at Adventureland. We spent about half the day there. And found enough things to ride the kids were fairly satisfied.

Fast forward to today. We go out in the morning to water the garden, but shortly after we come in Jr. seems to be under the weather. A quick take of his temp shows 102 degrees! A few hours later it was topping 103.5!!!??? Needless to say we stripped him down, got a washcloth on his head and administered some Tylenol. He’s still fevering at the moment but at a more comfortable level. (He’s playing duplos upstairs with Daddy while I dash this off quick.) He’s enjoying getting to run around the house in his undies too. (Less clothes equals better temp at least with our boys.)

We were supposed to go to the Arts Festival but instead we may be staying home to take it easy. I will still need to run out this weekend but at the moment our plans are somewhat scrapped until we see how Jr. feels tomorrow. Though I may be able to get a few things checked off my “clean it” list as well as send Hubby on a trip or two to goodwill this weekend.
