Saturday morning we left for the Sioux City area where we had plans with several family members and our Uncle K. The boys were good little travelers and we made decent time! Once we arrived in Sioux City, we met Uncle K at a new restaurant (Bev’s) for a bite to eat. I must say that the food was delicous! I had a chicken croissant sandwhich that is STILL making my mouth water. I am not sure on everyone else as I didn’t ask! I was to busy salivating over my sandwhich.

We spent a nice afternoon with Uncle K and the boys enjoyed the time a lot. Jr. P was very patient for a four year old and managed to only ask to open presents about half a dozen times. Presents were of course a HUGE hit. Jr. P got a ship which has kept him busy for nearly five afternoons in a row. (Arrgghh….great pirate adventures!!) Lil’B got a choo-choo which he’s run around the track a few times and a neat little mega-blocks ship that he takes apart more than leaves together!!
Good times all around!

Lil’B had a minor mishap with an ornament and ended up with an owie. We had it checked out and once again found we were doing fine. On one hand I get disheartened by the pat on the head but on the other hand its nice to have the reassurance when we aren’t exactly sure we are doing whats best. Amazingly his little hand is healing very well and very rapidly. I expect that it will be mostly gone by the beginning of next week!!

Jr. P & Lil’B spent the next afternoon out at Grampa F’s where they delighted us all with thier antics. Very patient this go round Jr. only asked once (or maybe twice) if he could open presents!! A special treat was that Grt. Aunt M. was there to see the boys and of course catch up with Daddy. This time round Lil’B got the present du jour a tractor complete with wagons that DON’T fall off!! Wagons are Lil’B’s bane. He loves them but can’t seem to run the tractors we have without them falling off which of course leads to frustration. Jr. P received another ship so the pirate battles are now becoming EPIC battles. Its cute to watch him sail his ships and make up his imaginary story lines!!

A quick visit to the Great Grandparents L & Gramma M’s topped off our Sunday evening. The best part of the evening actually could be considered the most embarrassing. We were all sitting around chatting and the boys were playing quietly. Or rather Jr. was playing quietly and Lil’B was running around. Lil’B ran over to where my coat was and began saying “coa, coa” “byby byby” and then proceed to dig and look for his coat. I told him his Daddy had it so he went up to his Daddy with his “coa coa” routine. So we got his coat. Which he put on and then asked for his hat. After his hat he ran over to the diaper bag and dragged it to the door all the while saying “byby byby”. So needless to say we packed up and left since our littlest charge was obvisously saying it was time to go!!

Monday morning we ran over to Aunty P’s and played for awhile. We had a good chat while the kids played. We also exchanged our boxes of gifts. (Pleased to note here that ours went over well - we on the other hand are hoarding all the gifts till this weekend :) helping to flesh out the tree this year) . After lunch we headed home to pick up Gabbie from the boarders (Buster stayed with the Grandparents)

Long trip home……to rest and relaxation. NOT this week we’ve been busy with cookies, cleaning and general mayhem…..err play. Photos soon as time permits we are on “countdown” till Christmas!
